At the beginning ceremony of these Olympic Games was the first time the Olympic anthem was heard, written by Filisko Samara. The orchestra was consisted of 200 musicians and singers.

It was almost a perfect event. All sports were supported by very good athletic facilities, the Australians attitude was excellent although they were very excited about the event.
